State Highway Administration announces road project meetings

The Maryland State Highway Administration will host three public meetings this month concerning three road projects that are planned for Finksburg, Westminster and New Windsor Areas, according to a news release

The first meeting will concern SHA plans to add an acceleration lane for traffic merging onto eastbound Md. 140 from Kays Mill Road in Finksburg, a project that is slated to begin next year, according to the release. The meeting will be held 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Sandymount Elementary School Cafeteria.

A 6 to 8 p.m. meeting on Oct. 30 at the Runnymeade Elementary School Cafeteria in Westminster will cover SHA plans to widen the intersection at Md. 140 and Pleasant Valley Road next year. That project will include the addition of merge lanes, and right and left turn lanes in both directions, according to the release.

A third meeting will be the first public meeting on an improvement plan for Md. 31 from it's intersection with Church Street to the intersection of High Street and Lambert Avenue in New Windsor. The project is only funded for the design phase at this point, and those attending the 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 30 meeting at the New Windsor Fire Company will be able to view displays on the proposed road resurfacing and sidewalk renovations.
