Human remains found in Westminster

Police are releasing few details about human remains found Sunday in Westminster near 40 N. Tannery Road and a railroad line.

Units were dispatched to the area Sunday afternoon, but by Sunday evening investigators had left and the scene was being monitored by two Carroll County sheriff's deputies.

Police released no details as to exactly when the remains were discovered, or how long they may have been on the site.

The Maryland State Police homicide unit is investigating the case.
