Nikki Woodson, of Francis Scott Key High School, was awarded the 2015 Ravens Scholars scholarship. Founded in 2010, the Ravens Scholars program awards a $5,000 renewable scholarship each year to each of five high school seniors.
Students were judged on their grades, extra-curricular activities and community service. The five students were chosen from among more than 125 applicants and 10 finalists were interviewed by Ravens assistant director of pro personnel Chad Alexander and assistant director of public relations Patrick Gleason as well as members of the CollegeBound Foundation.
Woodson plans to attend McDaniel College in the fall, studying physical science. She was awarded based on her academic achievement as well as more than 750 hours of community service, and participation in the Student Government Association, Key Club and National Honor Society.
