Carroll County Master Gardeners to host plant sale

The Carroll County Master Gardeners will host their third annual plant sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 23, under the pavilion near the Carroll County Agriculture Center parking lot in Westminster.

"The plants are dependable and healthy, and the prices are reasonable," said Joan Epler, coordinator of the plant sale.

Epler said master gardeners will be on hand to answer buyers' questions. She said most of the plants for sale are provided by master gardeners. Many of the selections will be perennials.

The plant sale is a fundraiser for the Carroll County Master Gardeners' program. The group maintains several gardens throughout the county and holds classes to educate the public.

The sale will be combined with a garden flea market. Shoppers will also have the opportunity to participate in a raffle for a $60 shovel and enter a silent auction for a shredder worth $600.

The group will not accept credit cards. All sales will be made with cash or check.
