Kids have only been out of school for a little over a month, right? They have about seven weeks left of summer — almost two full months. I was in complete and utter shock when I saw a commercial on the television the other day for back-to-school supplies! Out of sheer curiosity, I checked the website for my daughter's school and low and behold, there was the school 2017-2018 school supply list. What? Too early. Next, we'll be seeing Halloween and Christmas merchandise at the beginning of August.

Well, since it's all out there and ready to go, why not help NESAP with their Back to School Assistance Program?

The following items are needed before August: backpacks, three-ring binders, 3-by-3 Post-It notes, pencil top erasers, three-holded folders with pockets with and without prongs (blue, green, red, purple, orange, and yellow), large glue sticks, highlighters, thin markers, dry erase markers, spiral and composition notebooks, wide-ruled paper, large canvas pencil cases with holes for a three-ring binder, red and blue pens, rulers, and USB flash drives.

The store hours are 9 a.m. to 3 pm. Monday through Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays; and is located at 1046 S. Carroll St., Hampstead. For information on this program, or the organization, call 443-952-0097 or 410-374-9099.
