The Hampstead Lioness Club is offering $1,500 scholarships to three members of the graduating class of Manchester Valley High School, who live in the Hampstead ZIP code (21074).
The applicants must demonstrate scholastic achievement, financial need, and community participation. Students applying must have already been accepted by a college.
One of the scholarships available is the Craig H. Snyder Memorial Scholarship, according to an email from Mary Hamilton, president of the Hampstead Lioness Club.
This scholarship is awarded to a student that is attending the Carroll County Career and Technology Center. All applicants must also live in the 21074 ZIP code and provide proof of scholastic achievement, financial need and community service.
There are no essay requirements for the scholarships and the committee chooses the most qualified to interview, and then vote to select the three recipients.
Per Hamilton, "the awards will be awarded during the Manchester Valley Awards night, prior to graduation."
Applications may be found at the guidance counselor's office at the school and are to be returned no later than March 31.
In addition, the Lioness Club is hosting a Paint Nite fundraiser at 7 p.m. Monday, May 1, to raise funds for the scholarships.
The event will be held at New York J&P Pizza, 903 S. Main St., Hampstead.
The cost is $45 per person and the painting to be done is entitled "Love Bugs."

Fire department crab leg feed
The Manchester volunteer firemen will be hosting their Crab Leg Feed from 4 to 11 p.m. Saturday, March 4.
The doors for the event at 4 p.m., dinner is 5 to 7 p.m., and dance will follow with music by the Rivers Bend Band.
The menu includes all you can eat crab legs and fried chicken, cream of crab soup, side dishes, and all you can drink beer, soda and water.
The cost to attend is $50 for adults and $15 for children 15 and younger.
They will also have a silent auction, pull tickets and Big 6.

The Carroll County Crushing Crows football team have joined the Mason Dixon Indoor Football League and they are accepting registration for Spring Indoor Football.
Several Hampstead Ravens players have already registered for this opportunity to continue playing football, and reinforce their fundamentals, during the spring season.
According to a news release, there will be eight games, beginning Sunday, March 5 and ending on Sunday, April 23.
Home games will be held at Carroll Indoor in Westminster, with practices occurring one to two hours a week. Age groups are 7U, 9U, 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U; going by their date of birth as of Aug. 1, 2016.
Registration fees are 7U-14U, $150; and 16U, $175.

NESAP is seeking donations for their Easter Food Assistance, including cranberry sauce, macaroni and cheese, canned fruit, rice, baked beans or other beans, tuna, instant potatoes, peas, canned gravy, corn muffin mix, flavored noodles, canned pasta, and cream of mushroom or chicken soup.
