North Carroll roundup: Here's to making a fresh start in the new year

The new year is here!

Often with the new year, people are looking for a new start, a fresh start. Some New Year's resolutions may include improving their health with diet and exercise, working on their financial situation via a new job, saving better; or working on things at home such as remodeling, purging through items that cause clutter, etc.

Everyone is looking for some fresh start to some part of their lives. Speaking from experience, it's not something we should wait to do … we wait for the first of the new year, the first of the week, the month, etc. If you want to do it, do it; we need to look inside ourselves to find the resolve to follow through with a goal we've set for ourselves.

When attempting to accomplish those goals, remember that life can be hectic and stressful. Take a moment to take a deep breath and it's OK to take a break, but don't give up. Family and friends are there to support you and, hopefully, not to deter or sabotage you. Ask them for help and remember to return the favor. While some friends come, and go, family is forever.

May you all have a wonderful, healthy and happy new year and accomplish all your goals.

New year, new news

One thing that I'd like to work on for the new year, is getting more local news from all of you to incorporate into this column. Keep in mind your organizations upcoming events and send to me via email or give me a call.

I work ahead typically and ask that you send me as much information as possible in regards to the events occurring and contact information so I may follow up with questions.

I am looking forward to working with all of you in the new year!
