Three members of the Carroll County Chapter, National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association attended the NARFE National Convention as voting delegates for the local chapter.

At the convention, held Aug. 24-28 in Orlando, Florida, they discussed many issues affecting federal employees and retirees as well as the future role of NARFE and possible organizational changes in the future.

Among matters voted on by the delegates: the election of a new national president and national secretary/treasurer. Elected as national president was Richard G. Thissen, who served as the national treasurer from April 2011 to present. Jon Dowie, a certified public accountant, was elected national secretary/treasurer.
