Transportation company CSX will close the grade crossing on Morgan Station Road between Old Frederick and Hoods Mill roads for repairs at 6 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24.
According to a CSX news release, the company is replacing the surface at the railroad crossing and repaving the railroad approaches. The signed detour route includes Old Frederick Road, Md. 94 (Woodbine Road) and Hoods Mill Road. Through-traffic wishing to travel north or south on Morgan Station Road will be detoured around the crossing.
Northbound drivers can avoid the crossing by following Old Frederick Road west to Md. 94 (Woodbine Road), Woodbine Road north to Hoods Mill Road and Hoods Mill Road east to return to Morgan Station Road, according to the release. Southbound drivers would follow the reverse, east on Hoods Mill Road to left on Woodbine Road, south on Woodbine to left on Old Frederick Road, east on Old Frederick Road to Morgan Station Road. Weather permitting, CSX will reopen the Morgan Station Road crossing late Friday, Aug. 26.
