Firefighters from the Reese, Westminster and Gamber fire companies were called to the Northern Landfill, at 1400 Baltimore Blvd. in Westminster, on Friday for the report of a building fire.

The incident, which involved a pile of trash the size of a front-end loader bucket, began inside one of the buildings at the site, said Robin Stansbury, a member of the Reese department, but was able to be moved outside.

Despite the original call, the building was not involved in the fire, he said, and the fire was extinguished without any damages reported.

The incident will likely not require investigation, Stansbury said.
