UnitedHealthcare foundation to publish book of children's jokes

Opportunity is at the door for young comedians with a flare for the knock-knock joke, as the UnitedHealthcare Children's Foundation accepts joke submissions for a book of children's jokes and riddles to be published in October.

Children ages 17 and younger can submit their jokes online at http://www.uhccf.org/news-events/submit-a-joke/ through May 31. Winners will have their first name, last initial, city and state published along with their joke, pending permission of a parent or guardian, who will be notified by email.

The books will be distributed to children in hospitals and sold to raise funds for the United Healthcare Children's Foundation medical grant program, which provides funding to low-income families to aid in covering their children's medical expenses.

The foundation published its first joke book in 2014, "Little Book — Big Laughs Joke Book," which featured more than 600 jokes contributed by children. The popularity of the first book led the foundation to plan for a second volume in 2015.
