A lot of people visit haunted houses during the Halloween season, but the North Carroll High School Key Club is offering something a little different — Haunted Hallways.
The inaugural Haunted Hallways will be the evening of Oct. 17 in the hallways around the main auditorium in NCHS. The Key Club, along with the NCHS Drama Club and Art Club, came together to create this fun community event.
"The purpose will be to provide an entertaining activity for younger children while collecting funds for service projects and nonperishable food for our local food bank," Katherine Rudy, Key Club adviser, wrote in an email.
Rudy said the hallways will be set up with two routes, one for elementary students and the other for middle school students. In addition to walking through the creepy passageways, participants will be invited to attend Zombie University, where they will learn how to become a zombie using makeup, shredded clothes and zombie lessons.
Admission to this event is $5, or $4 and the donation of one nonperishable food product. Admission will give you unlimited trips through the halls and 10 tickets to be used to play games, get refreshments or even attend Zombie University. Additional tickets will be sold for 50 cents each or $1 for three tickets. You can also acquire more tickets by bringing extra nonperishable, in-date food products. Each food product donated will be worth two tickets.
Games will be a cost of one or two tickets and prizes can be won. Snacks and drinks can also be purchased for one or two tickets. Admission to Zombie University will be six tickets.
The Haunted Hallways will be open from 6 until 9 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door.
