The Town of Hampstead is no longer required by the state to provide annual water quality reports to its residents via the mail.
Water providers are required by the state to provide reports if the community being served is fewer than 10,000 in population. Hampstead, which serves slightly more than 6,000 residents, has had this requirement waived.
The town will now be saving about $2,500 a year in printing and postage costs.
The annual report will still be available on the municipality's website at http://www.hampsteadmd.gov under the Helpful Links & Documents tab, as well as in hard copy by request from the town office.
