The owners of an Eldersburg house that was decimated by fire Friday morning are being assisted by family while the cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
The two-alarm fire began in the rear sun room of the one-story single-family dwelling in the 2100 block of Harvest Farm Road around 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, according to a notice of investigation from the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
Damages to the structure were estimated at about $200,000 and there are damages to about $20,000 in contents, according to the notice.
It took about 50 firefighters from Sykesville-Freedom, Gamber, Winfield and neighboring fire companies in Howard and Baltimore counties about 26 minutes to control the blaze, according to the fire marshal's office.
Timothy and Christina Krummenoehl were listed as the owners of the property. Neither was home at the time of the fire, which was first reported by a neighbor, according to the fire marshal's office. No one was injured.
