The Sons of the American Legion will host its annual bull and oyster feed and dance Nov. 15 at American Legion Gold Star Post 191 in Mount Airy.
This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Sons of the American Legion, and proceeds go to veterans rehabilitation, Special Olympics, Children's Welfare Fund and several more programs, according to Brett Beall, SAL member.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. The all-you-can-eat meal, available from 5:30 to 7 p.m., will include roast beef on the grill, steamed and raw oysters, hand-patted fried oysters, oyster stew and a variety of sides as well as an assortment of drinks. The bar will be open, if you would like to purchase alcoholic drinks.
Boys and Me, a country-rock band, will play from 7 to 11 p.m.
"This event is a lot of fun, the band is terrific, and the food is plentiful and delicious — oysters any way you want them and the roast beef melts in your mouth. Come on out and support your veterans," said Beall.
Tickets are $30 per person and must be purchased by Nov. 2.
For tickets and reservations, stop by the post lounge and see the bartender.
Everyone in attendance must wear proper attire and be at least 21 years old.
