"We're taking the dog-days of August to heart at our Fourth Annual K-9's in the Vines event. What better way to wind down the summer than overlooking the vineyard with family and your four-legged friends enjoying local wines, great music, fun pet games and unique vendors amidst the rolling vineyards," Debra DePaul, president of the Animal Welfare League of Frederick County, wrote in an email.

The event helps to raise funds to support the league's programs and services throughout the year.

The Animal Welfare League of Frederick County is a no-kill organization which offers dog and cat adoptions, low-cost spay and neuter clinics to help reduce pet overpopulation, and a pet food bank for those in need.

"We're very fortunate to have the support of generous sponsors like Central Dawgma, Country Meadows Assisted Living and Retirement Communities, CARE Veterinary services and Amberlyn Kennels. Their commitments as well as those from our other sponsors and contributors will greatly help save the lives of many animals and help many families in our area," wrote DePaul.

Tickets are $25 each and include a keepsake wineglass, ticket for wine tasting (for those 21 or older) and a tote bag filled with treats.

All proceeds go to the Animal Welfare League of Frederick County to support animals in need.
