Crash on Md. 140 sends two to Shock Trauma

A trash truck and a sports utility vehicle collided on Md. 140 in Baltimore County just past the Carroll County line Wednesday afternoon.

Two people were transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, one by ambulance and one by helicopter, according to a Baltimore County Police spokeswoman.

No information regarding the status of the two individuals was available as of 4:45 p.m.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:15 p.m. in the 1100 block of Md. 140 when the SUV struck the rear of the trash truck, according to police.

Md. 140 was reduced to one lane in both directions Wednesday afternoon causing traffic backups, according to the spokeswoman.
