New Windsor woman killed, 1 injured in crash near Westminster

One person was killed Thursday morning when a car collided with a bus near Westminster.
Kathleen Gail Tyson, 60, of New Windsor, was taken to Carroll Hospital Center and pronounced dead, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office. She was a passenger in the car.
Carroll County Sheriff's deputies along with emergency medical services responded to reports of the crash at the intersection of Medford Road and Stone Chapel Road at about 8:20 a.m., according to the release.
The investigation revealed that a Ford Econoline bus was traveling north on Stone Chapel Road and attempted to cross Medford Road after stopping at a stop sign, according to the release. The bus was struck by a Corvette traveling east on Medford Road.
The driver of the Corvette, Robert Grant Tyson Jr., 62, of New Windsor, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release.
