Brush fire consumes 1.5 acres near Liberty Reservoir

Fire crews from Carroll, Baltimore and Howard Counties battled a two-acre brush fire in the Liberty Reservoir Watershed along Deer Park Road in Finksburg Sunday, May 10, 2015.

A fire consumed an acre and a half of near the Liberty Reservoir Watershed off Deer Park Road Sunday afternoon.

According to Clay Myers, public information officer for Gamber & Community Fire Co., the fire began at 4:35 p.m. near the county line. Baltimore County's Engine 56 was the first to respond. They were aided by fire departments from Gamber, Sykesville, Reese, Winfield and Baltimore County fire departments in Glyndon, Reisterstown and Owings Mills.

Myers said Baltimore County police were on the scene doing traffic control aided by the Carroll County Fire Police. Baltimore City watershed police also assisted.
