Wednesday

Twos and Threes Together: Cookies: 10 a.m. For ages 2-3, with accompanying caregiver. This lively, fast-paced storytime for young children includes books, songs, fingerplays and movement.

Read and Play: 11 a.m. For ages birth-24 months, with accompanying caregiver. Join your little one at a storytime featuring interactive books, rhymes, music and movement, followed by playgroup activities which allow children to practice skills and socialize.

3D Printing: Cookie Cutters: 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. For ages 10-adults. See our 3-D printer in action and design your own cookie cutter just in time for holiday baking. Staff will demonstrate how to use Cookie Caster, a free online program, and will print your design for pickup the following week. Designing your cookie cutter will take about 30 minutes. Please register for your preferred time slot. All attendees need to register.

Westminster Book Discussion Group: "The Husband's Secret," by Liane Moriarty: 6:30 p.m. For adults. Join in a fun and exciting discussion of each month's featured title.

Thursday

Medicare 101: 5 p.m. For adults. Are you eligible for Medicare in the coming months? Do you already have Medicare and want to learn more? Join the library for a free one-hour workshop that will include the four parts of Medicare and how they work, Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans, find out if you qualify for Medicare Savings Programs, free preventive services offered by Medicare, and learn how to protect yourself from healthcare fraud. Presented by Tina Herrero-Backe, Senior Health Insurance Program coordinator.

Needle Nuts: 6 p.m. For adults. Knitters and crocheters are all welcome to join this monthly gathering to share tips, projects and patterns.

Live @ the Library No. 2: 7 p.m. For all ages. The Westminster branch will come alive with the beautiful flute music of Julia Carvalho and Debra Lemieux. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Friday

Preschool Science: Snow: 10 a.m. For ages 3-6. Snowflakes falling all around — come learn about what makes our favorite white weather so special in science activities appropriate for preschoolers. Children age 3 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Kinderconcerts: Deck the Halls: 10:30 a.m. For ages 2-7. Join the library for a violin and piano concert followed by a storytime and a chance to explore some instruments yourself. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Intro to Scratch: 1 p.m. For ages 8-12. Create a playable game using Scratch, a popular programming language designed by the MIT Media Lab. By dragging together colored blocks of code, you can build games and animations while learning computer programming concepts. Bring a USB flash drive to save your finished project to take home. Only kids need to register.

Ready, Set, School: Love: 10:30 a.m. For ages 3-6. Fun, hands-on activities will teach listening, pre-reading, math, movement, music and art skills. All adult caregivers are welcome.

Teen Advisory Board: 3:30 p.m. For ages 12-17. Calling all teens looking for leadership roles in planning library programs. Meetings will start with snacks at 3:30 p.m., then get down to business around 3:45 p.m. Service hours are also available. Refreshments will be served.

Hour of Code: 6:30 p.m. For all ages. Drop in and explore the world of coding during Computer Science Education Week. Work with game-based tutorials on computers, or explore on your own device. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Songs, Stories, and Seniors: 10:30 a.m. For ages 2-adults. Stop by for a fun program filled with bell ringing, stories and a craft with the Senior Inclusion Program. The Senior Inclusion Program is a group of senior citizens with developmental disabilities who participate in a retirement program at the Westminster Senior Center. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Saturday Afternoon Movie: Live-Action "Cinderella:" 1 p.m. For all ages. Come in your favorite Disney outfit and bring a friend to enjoy a Saturday afternoon movie and craft. Rated PG. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Sunday

Sunday Family Movie: "Brigadoon" (Rated G): 1:30 p.m. For all ages. Join the library to watch a movie. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Monday

Goldilocks and the Three Bears: 1:30 p.m. For ages 4-8. Come see a puppet show and learn about food safety. There will be a short discussion on food safety and hand washing with a Glo Germ demonstration. Presented by the University of Maryland Extension. Only kids need to register.

If you need information about what financial assistance you might be eligible for or would like in-person help with your application for coverage, come to a free community forum at your local library. Certified staff will be available to assist you with all your health insurance questions. Registration is suggested but walk-ins are welcome.
