McDaniel College held its annual A Day On Not a Day Off event in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day Jan. 18. About 100 elementary, middle and high school students, as well as McDaniel College students, learned about influential women of the Civil Rights Movement. They listened to monologues recited by volunteers and made cards to be delivered to a Westminster nursing home. In addition to McDaniel College and Carroll County Public Schools, the event was sponsored by the Ira and Mary Zepp Center for Nonviolence and Peace Education at McDaniel College and the Carroll County NAACP.
