The Historical Society of Mount Airy is offering community service opportunities to students in grades 6-12 who would like to help with reviewing, cataloging and preserving historical records.
The museum features photos and artifacts from businesses, schools and interesting citizens, and a train display with four model trains and landscape created as exact replicas of Mount Airy in the early 1900s.
Interested students should send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Historical Society members will explain details and help to set up flexible hours. The train station museum is open to visitors on Saturdays and Sundays from noon-4 p.m., Wednesdays during the farmers market, and by appointment.
