Hospital staff members receive awards

Registered nurse Clara Escobar was presented with Carroll Hospital's May DAISY Award. A nurse at the hospital since 2008, Escobar was recognized for her compassionate care of an anxious patient who was awaiting a procedure at the hospital. Carroll Hospital's DAISY Award was created to honor outstanding health care professionals at the hospital, and is given to a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse each month.

Olivia (Vehslage) Steadman, customer resource coordinator in the Tevis Center for Wellness, was selected as Carroll Hospital's May SuperStar of the Month. An associate at the hospital for close to four years, Steadman was chosen for her attentiveness and exceptional customer service skills, which helped a patient receive swift medical care. Each month, Carroll Hospital recognizes the achievements of staff members with a program called Associate WOW Service Awards.


Daniel Aukerman, M.D., primary care and chief of family medicine, was named Carroll Hospital's May Physician of the Month. A physician affiliated with Carroll Hospital since 2008, Dr. Aukerman was recognized for his high quality care and genuine interest in his patients' well-being. Each month, Carroll Hospital recognizes the extraordinary patient care achievements of physicians, as well as physician assistants, nurse practitioners and certified nurse anesthetists, with a program called Physician WOW Service Awards.
