The Carroll County Forestry Board is accepting applications for the 2015 Natural Resources Careers Camp. The Forestry Board will provide the $450 tuition for two local high school students to attend the week-long camp in the mountains of Garrett County. Selected students will be responsible for paying a $150 camp activity fee.
The camp is designed for high school students entering grades nine through 11 who are interested in investigating careers in forestry and natural resources. Students will learn about working in forestry, wildlife, fisheries, and other natural resources fields, educational requirements, employment, and career opportunities through a combination of classroom, hands-on, and field work. College credit is also available.
Students can apply online at http://www.marylandforestryboards.org. Applications must be completed online and are due by April 10. Students will be selected through an interview process and review of applications. For more information, call the Carroll County Forestry Board at 410-848-9290.
