Anna N. Teitt, of Finksburg, was recently awarded the 2015 Oscar Brothers Memorial Scholarship Fund Award.

The scholarship, which awards $12,500 over four years, is jointly sponsored by the Brothers family and the Gamber & Community fire company. An additional $500 is awarded for each semester the winner earns dean's list.

This is the eighth year of the scholarship program. As part of the scholarship requirements, the winner is required to complete 40 hours of community service each year and must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or better in college. He or she must also reside in Gamber & Community fire company's first-due district.

A graduate of Westminster High School, Teitt will be a freshman at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania this fall.

She plans on studying sign language interpreting.
