A Woodbine man is charged with disturbing the peace and indecent exposure after police say he repeatedly yelled and cursed at an officer then took his pants off while fleeing.
William Todd Zombro Jr., 26, of the 1900 block of Gillis Falls Road, is charged with disturbing the peace, obstructing and hindering police, failure to obey a reasonable police order, resisting arrest, escape and indecent exposure, according to electronic court files.
Zombro was held without bond Monday then released after posting $2,500 bond following a bail review hearing Tuesday.
A trooper from the Maryland State Police Westminster Barrack stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Md. 27 and Md. 26 in Taylorsville around 8 p.m. Sunday after he observed possible signs of intoxication as well as an inoperable brake light and a passenger without a seat belt, according to charging documents.
The trooper spoke with the driver, Vanessa Anne McMillion, 26, of Pasadena, and allegedly observed slurred speech and the strong odor of alcohol, according to the documents. The passenger was identified as Zombro.
McMillion agreed to perform field sobriety tests and while the trooper was speaking to her she had trouble standing and fell to the ground, according to the documents.
Zombro got out of the vehicle and approached the trooper and McMillion, screaming and using profanity, at least three times during the incident, according to the documents.
Zombro was eventually handcuffed to the front bumper of the trooper's vehicle, according to the documents.
Zombro continued to scream and curse, prompting patrons from the nearby businesses to come outside, according to the documents.
Zombro was arrested and placed in the back of the trooper's patrol car but later fled on foot while the trooper waited for backup, according to the documents. Police say that Zombro, while fleeing, removed his pants and exposed himself while running through a parking lot, according to the documents.
Troopers and an assisting Carroll County Sheriff's Office deputy caught Zombro in a nearby field after 10 minutes and had to carry him back to the scene after he refused to walk, according to the documents.
Zombro was transported to Carroll Hospital for minor scrapes and McMillion was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and related offenses, according to the documents.
