Just after 10 p.m. on Monday, Taneytown police were alerted to a possible intoxicated driver westbound on W. Baltimore Street, according to charging documents, which stated that the tip came from another motorist who had seen a gold 1994 Ford Tempo swerve and nearly hit another vehicle.

Taneytown police followed the car after it turned right on to Harney Road and then stopped it after its driver-side rear wheel crossed the double yellow lines of the road between the intersections with Westview Drive and Walnut Grove Road, according to the charging documents.

Walker, the driver, presented the responding officer with a Maryland driver's license which, according to charging documents, is suspended.

When questioned about the strong odors of both alcohol and marijuana, Walker told the officer he had been drinking, according to the charging documents. A search of his person revealed a small bag containing less than 10 grams of suspected marijuana.

When the officer asked him to perform a field sobriety test, Walker told the officer he was familiar with the tests because he had been arrested for driving under the influence in Pennsylvania about a month ago, according to charging documents.

At the time of the traffic stop, the 6-year-old daughter of Walker's fiancee was in the front seat of the vehicle, according to charging documents.

After failing the field sobriety test, Walker was arrested and taken to Carroll County Detention Center's central booking facility, according to charging documents.

Walker was released on Tuesday after posting $30,000 bail, according to electronic court files.
