A Westminster man is charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and related offenses after police searched his home and allegedly found drugs packaged for sale.

James Harold Samms, 22, of the unit block of Liberty Street, is also charged with possession of cocaine, possession of suboxone and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to electronic court files.

Samms was released from the Carroll County Detention Center on Wednesday after posting $5,000 bond.

Westminster Police Department officers served a search and seizure warrant at Samms' home at about 2:35 p.m. Tuesday and located suboxone, individual bags of cocaine, cash, and packaging materials, according to charging documents.

Samms was arrested and advised of his Miranda rights, which he waived, according to the documents. In a written statement, Samms said he was selling drugs to make money.
