Westminster police investigating PNC Bank robbery

The Westminster Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at the PNC Bank on Englar Road that occurred at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

No injuries were reported, and the suspect fled the scene, according to Westminster police Chief Jeff Spaulding.

The person is described as a man of unknown race, about 5-foot-8 to 6-feet tall and weighing 180 to 200 pounds, Capt. Pete D'Antuono said. The person is thought to be wearing a light-colored baseball hat, a dark-colored jacket and dark pants, D'Antuono said. The man's face was covered during the robbery.

D'Antuono said the man was armed with a handgun and showed it during the robbery.

D'Antuono was not sure how much money the man was able to take.

The man fled the scene driving a small, light-colored four-door sedan last seen traveling west on Md. 140.
