Police investigating armed robbery at Eldersburg Panera

Police are investigating the late Friday night armed robbery of the Panera Bread restaurant in Eldersburg.

Two males approached the manager outside the restaurant in the 6300 block of Georgetown Boulevard around 11 p.m. Friday and ordered the manager to reenter the business and open the safe, according to a news release from the Carroll County Sheriff's Office.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the two suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction, police said.

Sheriff's deputies and Maryland State Police searched the immediate area following the incident, but nothing was found.

The suspects were both wearing ski masks and dark clothing.
