Natural Resources Police vehicle involved in pedestrian collision

Maryland State Police are continuing to investigate a pedestrian collision in Sykesville on Wednesday that involved a Natural Resources Police vehicle.

The pedestrian was struck around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Buttercup Road and Fifth Street, and was not seriously injured, according to a spokesman from the Maryland State Police Westminster Barrack.

No citations had been issued as of Thursday evening, according to the investigating trooper from the state police.

Protocol dictates that the state police conduct the investigation when a Department of Natural Resources vehicle is involved, according to DNR spokeswoman Candy Thomson.
