Maryland State Police are searching for the person involved in a robbery Monday afternoon at the Capital One Bank in Mount Airy.

At roughly 3:45 p.m., police received a phone call from the bank alerting them of the robbery, which resulted in no injuries, according to a spokeswoman at the Maryland State Police Westminster Barrack.

A man entered the bank and gave a bank employee a note demanding an money. He displayed no weapons and an undisclosed amount of money was given to him, according to the spokeswoman. The man then fled on foot.

The man is described as a black, wearing a bandanna around his mouth, a Rasta hat, glasses, baggy clothing and gloves, the spokeswoman said.

A police dog unit was brought to the scene, but had no positive results, and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to call the Maryland State Police Westminster Barracks at 410-386-3000.
