An Eldersburg man has been charged with attempted murder after he assaulted a person in Eldersburg, police say.

Randall is charged with attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault, according to electronic court records. He is also the subject of three interim orders of protection related to domestic violence filed against him on Dec. 18, according to electronic court records, which did not include information about who sought the orders.

Officers had been searching for Randall since Friday morning, when sheriff's deputies, along with Maryland State Police troopers and Sykesville police officers, were called to an apartment on Marimich Court in Eldersburg after the report of an assault, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.

There, according to the release, they found an individual with several lacerations. That individual was then transported via state police helicopter to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, according to police.

In a release to the media seeking the public's help in locating Randall on Friday, the Sheriff's Office said Randall might have been in possession of a box cutter. That instrument could have been used to cut the victim, said spokesman Cpl. Jonathan Light, who said there were several "edged weapons" at the scene that could have been used in the alleged assault.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Randall at 8:45 a.m. Jan. 15 in Carroll County District Court, according to online court records. A hearing on the protective orders is scheduled for Monday, according to those records.
