Police arrest two men in connection with Union Bridge liquor store robbery

The Carroll County Sheriff's Office arrested two men Friday in connection with the armed robbery of Esquire Liquors in Union Bridge on Thursday evening.

Luke M. Etzler, 22, of the 1800 block of Hoke Road in Westminster, and Brian M. Tarman, 33, of the 400 block of South Hills Court in Westminster, were arrested Friday evening, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office. Both have been charged with one count each of armed robbery, solicitation to commit armed robbery, conspiracy, theft over $1,000 and first-degree assault.

Police say a man was seen Thursday entering Esquire Liquors in the unit block of Broadway Street who then produced a handgun and demanded cash. The man was then picked up by a black pickup truck. According to the release, officers were able to identify the truck and two individuals involved in the robbery. No one was injured in the robbery.

As of Saturday afternoon, Etzler is being held on $200,000 bail and Tarman is being held on $250,000 bail. No court dates had beens et for either as of about 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
