Frederick man indicted on intent to distribute charges after drugs allegedly found in Mount Airy

A Frederick man was indicted on charges of intent to distribute cocaine, MDMA and marijuana after the substances were allegedly found in a storage locker in Mount Airy.

A Carroll County grand jury indicted Ryan G. Young, 25, on three counts of possession and three counts of possession with intent to distribute. He was held without bail after a Monday bail review in the Carroll County Circuit Court.

According to the indictment, which was filed March 14, Young was found to be in possession of the drugs at an address in Mount Airy on Jan. 16.

The Frederick News Post reported that detectives executed a search warrant on a storage locker rented by Young in Carroll County as part of an investigation by the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office. In Fredrick County, Young was indicted on more than 25 drug distribution and firearms charges.

Prosecutors described Young and alleged co-conspirator Andrew Justice Brown as operating a large drug distribution network, according to a Jan. 18 article in the Post.

The attorney listed for Young in Frederick County court records was not available for comment Tuesday afternoon. No attorney was listed for Young in Carroll County Court records.

A court date is scheduled for April 12.
