A Westminster man was arrested and charged Monday after he allegedly assaulted a woman, according to police.
Donald Prozesky, 72, of the 400 block of East Main Street, was charged with second-degree assault. He was held without bond, electronic court records show.
The woman said that she found Prozesky drinking in the kitchen at about noon Monday after he’d promised to quit, and she got mad at him, according to a statement of probable cause prepared by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.
Prozesky became angry and grabbed the woman’s left arm, pulling her to the floor, which caused bruising to her shoulder and drew blood from her knee, she told sheriff’s deputies, according to the statement.
The woman attempted to call police, but Prozesky prevented her from doing so, prompting the woman to flee the apartment and call police from a downstairs phone, she told deputies, per the statement.
