A West Virginia couple was charged after they allegedly stole tires from a Goodyear location in Westminster in 2018.
Vincent Robert Santymire, 49, and Eloise Melinda Yost, 57, of the 200 block of Odell Road in Hedgesville, West Virginia, were each charged with one misdemeanor count of conspiracy to commit theft between $1,500 and $25,000, and one felony charge of theft between $1,500 and $25,000. Yost was also charged with one count of trespassing.
They were both held in default of $2,500 bail after a bail review Wednesday, according to electronic court records.
According to the statement of charges, the couple allegedly used a forklift to steal tires from Goodyear Retread Plant & Tire in Westminster and were caught on camera on May 31, 2018. Arrest warrants were issued for both on Aug. 23, 2018.
Santymire — who was employed by Goodyear but is not currently — admitted to stealing eight tires, but additional documentation of 44 additional unaccounted-for tires was found in his desk, according to the statement.
Santymire and Yost have each have trials scheduled for Aug. 20. No attorneys were listed for either in electronic courts records.
