A Taneytown man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly committed assault.
Ryan Scott Grossnickle, 36, of the 4200 block of Francis Scott Key Highway, was charged with one count of assault in the second degree. He has been released on bail, according to electronic court records.
According to the statement of probable cause, the Carroll County’s Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in Taneytown after a person alleged that Grossnickle grabbed them by their throat twice and pushed them against furniture both inside and on the front porch of a residence in Taneytown.
The person who lodged the allegations against Grossnickle was seen to have freshly broken skin on their elbow, according to the statement.
A court date is scheduled for August 7.
