A New Windsor man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly aimed a rifle-style BB gun at a woman, police said.
Jesse Ryan Post, 27, of the 100 block of Main Street, was charged with robbery, armed robbery, second-degree assault and first-degree assault. He was released on $10,000 bail following a Thursday bail review, according to electronic court records.
According to the statement of probable cause, a woman told deputies of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office that she was approached by Post who held a rifle-style BB gun at her head and demanded she give him her marijuana.
She said she had none, and the two went back and forth with Post pumping the barrel and aiming the BB gun at the woman and her refusing to give him anything, she said.
The woman then struck Post in the head, she told police, causing him to lose balance, after which he returned to his residence, according to the statement.
Deputies then spoke to Post, who said the woman’s statement was a lie in order to get him in trouble. He said he had had contact with the woman and she did strike him in the head, “but failed to give a reason why,” according to the statement.
He offered to show police his BB gun, which matched the description given by the woman, a black M16 style rifle, and was placed under arrest, according to the statement.
