Miller was released on $5,000 bond as of Wednesday morning and did not have an attorney listed in online court records.

According to the application for statement of charges, Miller called Enterprise in late March to ask if he could keep the rented vehicle for longer than initially agreed upon and pay the difference. Later that same day, Miller and a woman came to the business and said the vehicle was stolen and they were trying to find it.

The woman is named as a co-conspirator in the statement of charges brought against him, but she had not been charged as of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to court records.

Enterprise employees said they have been unable to make contact with Miller and were only able to reach the woman through email.

A check by Maryland State Police showed a stolen vehicle matching the rented vehicle had not been reported stolen and the Westminster Police Department had not taken any stolen vehicle reports from Miller’s address, according to the statement.

A court date is set for Jun 21.
