An Upper Marlboro man was arrested Tuesday, weeks after assaulting and destroying the property of a Taneytown woman, police say.

Antonio Delantae Mclain, 26, of the 9000 Block of Spring Hill Lane, has been charged with second-degree assault and malicious destruction of property, according to electronic court records. He is being held without bail, court records show.

A woman reported to the Taneytown Police Department on Dec. 28 that Mclain on Dec. 25 assaulted her at her Taneytown apartment by punching her in the right eye with a closed fist while holding her hair, police wrote in an application for statement of charges.

According to the statement, the woman said Mclain destroyed her iPad, two picture frames and a lamp.

In the following days, Mclain sent the woman threatening text messages “in a fit [of] rage due to his displeasure with [the woman] filing a protection order against him,” police wrote.

Mclain, police wrote, said he did not care when the woman told him that she’d show the text messages to the judge if he didn’t leave her alone.

In a Dec. 28 text message, Mclain told the woman “Imma kill you,” according to the statement.

There is no attorney listed for Mclain in court records. A trial is scheduled for 8:45 a.m. March 6in Carroll County District Courtroom 1.
