Woman charged with theft from Westminster paint studio

A woman was charged with burglary and theft from the Cob51 Paint Studio in Westminster.

Amie Lauren Martin, 39, of no fixed address, was charged with second-degree burglary, theft, conspiracy to commit theft and trespassing on private property. She was assigned $3,000 bail awaiting a Tuesday bail review, according to electronic court records.

According to the statement of charges, Westminster police responded to the shop on Aug. 20 for a report of burglary and theft. The owner reported that electronics and equipment had been stolen between the time of closing and the next day, according to the statement.

Martin was a former employee of the shop and known to be involved in a disagreement with the owner, the owner told police, according to the statement.

Investigation located many of the items at pawnshops in the area. Martin used a Pennsylvania drivers license to identify herself when allegedly pawning several of the items, according to the statement.
