Carroll County officials arrested a Westminster man on suspicion of murdering his father, whose body officials believe was found dismembered on the side of the road Sunday evening.
Ravi Maganbhai Pansuriya, 29, is charged with first- and second-degree murder and being held at Carroll County Detention Center while he waits to see a district court commissioner, according to a Carroll County sheriff’s office news release. An attorney representing him could not immediately be reached for comment.
Sheriff’s deputies say they were called Sunday evening to a residence in the 600 block of Old Westminster Road for a report of a missing person. A motorist at the scene directed deputies to Medford Road at New Windsor Pike, where they found the body of a man lying on the shoulder of the road that appeared to have been stabbed numerous times and dismembered.
Detectives have not yet identified the victim due to the condition of the body, but say they believe it to be missing person 58-year-old Maganbhai Pansuriya, of Westminster.
