Westminster police are seeking information on a suspect who robbed the Westminster Carroll Mart gas station at gunpoint early Thursday morning.

At 4:29 a.m., a man described in a Westminster Police Department media release as a light-skinned black male, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 1 inch, wearing a black hoodie with a panda bear on the front, dark pants and shoes, with light gloves on his hands, brandished a handgun and demanded money from the cashier at the 304 E. Main St. location.

The cashier complied, giving the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect then ran east on Main Street, according to the media release.

Westminster Police Department Chief Jeff Spaulding said Thursday afternoon there was no new information on the early-morning robbery.

Westminster police are offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and subsequent conviction of the person responsible for the robbery.

Witnesses or those with information are asked to call Sgt. Rick Lambert at 410-848-4646; to send a confidential text to 847411, keyword TIPWPD; or to place a phone call to the TIPS line at 410-857-8477.

Carroll Mart operates from the former location of a Sheetz gas station, which was robbed in March 2016, which, in part, led to the closing of that Sheetz location that year.
