Eldersburg fire kills two dogs in kennel, damages multiple vehicles, fire marshal says

Two dogs died in a fire that caught on multiple vehicles and a dog kennel in the yard of an Eldersburg residence Wednesday, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

The first call went out at 3:40 p.m., according to a notice of investigation from the Office of the State Fire Marshal. About 10 firefighters responded to the 5600 block of Bartholow Road, where they were able to control the blaze in about 10 minutes, according to the notice.

The cost of the damage is estimated at $5,000, according to the notice.

The Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department was the primary responding department, according to the notice.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal is continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.
