A suspect wielding a knife robbed the 7-Eleven in the 2300 block of Liberty Road, Sykesville in the early hours of Friday, Feb. 22, and police are seeking to identify him.
The suspect is described as a white male, unknown age, approximately 6-feet tall, 150-180 pounds, wearing a black hoodie with the hood up, a mask covering the lower half of his face, light blue jeans, dark colored shoes and blue latex gloves, according to a release from the Westminster Barrack of the Maryland State Police.
Troopers responded to the convenience store a few minutes after midnight for a reported armed robbery.
The initial investigation revealed that the suspect entered the store displaying a knife. He accosted a clerk before directing the clerk toward the register and demanding money. The suspect then fled on foot eastward toward a parking lot where he entered a waiting vehicle of unknown description, according to the release.
A Royal Farms in Westminster was robbed just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, and police are looking into a possible connection between the two armed robberies.
