Police searching for man who robbed Sykesville 7-Eleven with knife

Police are looking for a suspect who robbed a Sykesville 7-Eleven with a knife just after midnight Friday, Feb. 22.

A suspect wielding a knife robbed the 7-Eleven in the 2300 block of Liberty Road, Sykesville in the early hours of Friday, Feb. 22, and police are seeking to identify him.

The suspect is described as a white male, unknown age, approximately 6-feet tall, 150-180 pounds, wearing a black hoodie with the hood up, a mask covering the lower half of his face, light blue jeans, dark colored shoes and blue latex gloves, according to a release from the Westminster Barrack of the Maryland State Police.

Troopers responded to the convenience store a few minutes after midnight for a reported armed robbery.

The initial investigation revealed that the suspect entered the store displaying a knife. He accosted a clerk before directing the clerk toward the register and demanding money. The suspect then fled on foot eastward toward a parking lot where he entered a waiting vehicle of unknown description, according to the release.

Maryland State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Royal Farms on Md. 140 outside Westminster on Wednesday night.

A Royal Farms in Westminster was robbed just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, and police are looking into a possible connection between the two armed robberies.

The investigation is still open. Anyone with information is asked to call the MSP Westminster Barrack at 410-386-3000.
