The Carroll County Arts Council will celebrate the holidays with its annual Festival of Wreaths silent auction for the 21st time.
Registration for those who wish to decorate and donate a wreath to the event opens Monday, Oct. 1. All must be registered by Nov. 3.
Those wishing to participate can register online at www.festivalofwreaths.com or pick up the form in person at the Carroll Arts Center, 91 West Main St., Westminster.
“Individuals, schools, business and organizations are encouraged to participate as displaying a wreath is a fabulous way to shine the spotlight on one’s mission or work,” according to a news release from the council.
The display of wreaths, at the arts center from Nov. 23 to Dec. 3, draws hundreds downtown annually.
“I am so thrilled to participate in my first, and CCAC’s 21st, Festival of Wreaths,” Executive Director Judy Morley was quoted in the prepared release. “As a newcomer, I am captivated by the uniqueness, popularity, and longevity of this event. A new twist this year will be a ‘buy it today’ price that will allow buyers to immediately purchase an entry for the amount listed. We hope this will add another level of excitement to this beloved holiday tradition.”
Donations of “original holiday, winter-themed artwork, and other seasonal fine crafts” are also welcome.
Wreath delivery to the arts center will take place Nov. 15, 16 and 17. Decorators will be invited to a opening party from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 23.
