No one injured in Westminster town house fire that caused $5,000 worth of damage

Firefighters extinguished a town house fire in Westminster early Wednesday morning that left no injuries but did cause $5,000 worth of damage, fire officials said.

The occupants of the two-story house on the 100 block of Carroll View Ave. discovered the fire a little after 4:30 a.m. after hearing alerts from smoke alarms, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

The fire marshal’s report states the Westminster Volunteer Fire Department was the primary responder, 10 officers were on the scene and it took 10 minutes to control the fire.

Three adults and four children were displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross, according to the Westminster fire department.

The fire’s area of origin was the kitchen, according to the fire marshal’s office, and the cause is being investigated.
