Last week’s shooting at a residence on Hobbits Lane in Westminster that left one person dead and another in critical condition was a domestic dispute, the Westminster Police Department has concluded.
Investigation by Westminster detectives determined that William Skillin, 46, shot his wife, Mary Skillin, 39, and then turned the gun on himself, causing a fatal, self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to a Wednesday news release from police.
Mary Skillin remains in critical but stable condition at University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, according to the release.
Police answered a welfare call to the 200 block of Hobbits Lane, placed by a neighbor at approximately 5:06 a.m. Thursday to find William Skillin deceased in a vehicle in the garage and Mary Skillin wounded from a gunshot in a second vehicle.
A child found at the residence was unharmed.
